Family visit to Sydney

Hello there! I've just had the best week ever; my family came all the way from Liverpool to see me in Sydney!

Tip: My family only booked this mega adventure three weeks before travel, and the prices were still not too bad which is great. Turns out a spontaneous visit to Australia is possible!

My mum, dad and sister decided to break up the journey here by spending a few days in Bangkok, which was great for them - but I was itching for them to get here so it seemed like forever!

G'day! We've been in Sydney for around 4 months now, so we like to think we're pretty clued up on the nightlife! Here's our top 5 of the best places to hang out down under.

1. Sidebar

I think this has to be our favourite place. Its based at WakeUp hostel, which is where you'll stay if you go for Real Gap's Paid work and Sydney intro programme. Its got quiz nights, live music, as well as cheap drinks and a happy hour! Also, if you go on a Wednesday night, then you get 2 free drinks, free chips...

It's not all barbecues and shrimp here!

Hi everyone, we'd thought we'd fill you in on what the food scene is here in Oz. It's not all kangaroo and crocodile, there is some around though! They love sushi here in Australia, and in your local 7/11 (newsagents), you'll find freshly prepared sandwiches, wraps, and sushi rolls, complete with tiny soy sauce fish! It's lovely :-)

As well as sushi, there's lots of Thai and Asian food, which is great if you're looking to stay healthy here.

Hi guys! We're officially half way into our ultimate year out and we can't believe how fast it's going! Only got a few more weeks in Sydney before we're off on our next adventure.

If you're wanting to go on an adventure but not sure how long to go for, then my advice would be- the longer the better! Time flies so quickly when you're travelling, so do and see as much as possible before you have to go home, because trust me, as much as you might miss home you'll want to go on for longer!

Hi! It's hot, hot, hot here in Sydney and we've been spending a lot of time on the beach soaking up the sun - so here's our top 5 beaches to get you in the sandy mood...

1. Bondi

It may be an obvious choice, but it's the best for a reason! It's massive so you'll always find a spot; the the sand is lush and it has the best waves for swimming. Not to mention they film Bondi Rescue there!

Life at Luna Park
