Day 1: Arrive in Lima - Land into Lima and explore the city before meeting your group this evening for a welcome evening.
Day 2 & 3: Huacachina - Travel down the coast to the oasis town of Huacachina, where we’ll chill out for the next couple of days. There’s also something for the adrenaline junkies with a dune-buggy and sandboarding session. On day 3, continue onto Nazca with a stop at a pisco winery on the way.
Day 4: Nazca - Open your eyes to the beauty of Nazca with free time today before sleeping on an overnight bus to awesome Arequipa.
Day 5, 6, 7 & 8: Arequipa - Visit the Convent of Santa Catalina and enjoy some delicious spicy food. See the incredible Colca Canyon and relax your senses in the Hot Springs. Stop by wonderful “miradors” and gaze in awe at Andean condors soaring overhead.
Day 9 & 10: Cusco - Enjoy two entirely free days to spend in beautiful Cusco! Take a cooking class, go horseback riding or white water rafting - take your friends or go solo - the choice is up to you!
Day 11: Cusco / Ollantaytambo - Today we’re off to Ollantaytambowith a stop at a weaving centre, where we learn how the locals make clothes, meet the llamas and buy some souvenirs. We’ll also drop into Sacred Valley brewery and try some scrummy artisanal beers.
Day 12, 13 & 14: Inca Trail - See smaller ruin sites like Llactapata, surrounded by wondrous wild flora, climb the long steep path to Warmiwañusca and enjoy the spectacular views of the Urubamba Valley!
Please note: Due to the Peruvian government's sustainable tourism regulations, there is a daily cap on the number of people allowed to trek the Inca Trail. If in the unlikely event the permits for the Inca Trail have sold out for your chosen date, then you will have the choice to either take the alternate Lares Trek to Machu Picchu, or have extra free time in Cusco and a train journey to Machu Picchu.
Day 15, 16 & 17: Cusco - Catch the first views of the breathtaking ruins of Machu Picchu on a beautiful clear day. Then hike down to the magnificent Machu Picchu for an informative guided tour of the site with free time to explore the incredible Inca Bridge.
Day 18, 19 & 20: Puno - Visit the terrific Taquile Island and enjoy spectacular views all around. Cruise to another village for an overnight homestay and learn about rural life in the Peruvian highlands, then participate in local traditions.
Day 21 & 22: La Paz - Explore La Paz and visit Iglesia de San Francisco. Make use of your free time with trips to the Valley of the Moon, the Witches' Market, or the nearby Tiahuanaco Ruins!
Day 23, 24 & 25: Sucre - Venture towards the exciting city of Potosí and go back to prehistoric times with a dinosaur tracks excursion. Go hiking in the beautiful mountains or mountain biking - the possibilities are endless!
Day 26 & 27: Potosi - Experience the wonderful sights of Potosi for two days! Tour the stunning Silver Mines. Then head to the bustling market and interact with the charming locals.
Day 28 - 30: Salt flats - Continue on to Uyuni,where we’ll start our 3-night trip through the Salt Flats. It’s a surreal Dali-esque landscape of red lagoons, blinding white salt pans, geysers, volcanos, flamingos and blue-green lakes. We’ll spend a night in a local village in a salt-brick bungalow.
Day 31 & 32: San Pedro de Atacama - Go biking, explore wonderful nearby ruins and see the incredible sights on horseback. Journey on through to Salta, situated in the Lerma Valley of northern Argentina.
Day 33 & 34: Salta - Experience the Quebrada de las Conchas to Cafayate or visit the High Mountain Archaeological Museum. Then hop on a flight as you make your way to brilliant Buenos Aires!
Day 35, 36 & 37: Buenos Aires - Uncover the brilliant districts of La Boca, Recoleta and San Telmo. Then make your way to Uruguay!
Day 38, 39 & 40: Montevideo - Explore the marvellous Montevideo and visit Estadio Centenario - where the first World Cup took place!
Day 41 & 42: Estancia Stay - Live like a true Uruguayan as you stay in an estancia and help out on the farm. What an experience!
Day 43 & 44: Iguassu Falls - See the rushing waterfalls of Iguassu Falls. Then go on a fun boat tour, an exhilarating helicopter ride or simply take in the incredible views on foot.
Day 45, 46 & 47: Paraty - Jet set to wonderful Sao Paulo and see pretty Paraty. Visit national parks, beautiful beaches and enjoy a fabulous boat tour.
Day 48 & 49: Ilha Grande - Hike the picturesque remote trails, swim with the fish and go snorkelling or explore the fantastic favela with an amazing drumming demonstration.
Day 50: Rio de Janeiro - Visit a favela and do some capoeira before exploring Rio at your own pace. Stroll down Copacabana, go up the iconic Christ the Redeemer, or just grab an iced coconut and sit in the shade watching the beautiful people go by.
Day 51: Depart Rio de Janeiro - Your 51 day trip comes to an end today! Why not go Rio hang gliding before departing? Don’t forget to tell everyone about your travels once you get back!

During your trip, you’ll stay 34 nights in simple hotels (twin-share), 4 nights in hostels (multi-share), 4 nights on overnight buses, 3 nights camping, 1 night in a homestay, 2 nights in a basic hotel on the Uyuni Salt Flats excursion (multi-share) and 2 nights in an estancia/ranch (multi-share).
Multi-share same-sex accommodation is used on this tour, so you'll be sharing a room of people of the same gender throughout the trip.
34 breakfasts, 8 lunches & 9 dinners are included on this trip. All other meals and snacks will be at your own expense- we recommend budgetting around USD1250-1625 for extra meals.
You should plan to arrive at any time on day 1 of the trip into Jorge Chavez International Airport, Lima. There are no planned activities for day 1, so check into the hotel and explore the city.

On day 51 your return flight home can depart at any time from Galeão Airport in Rio de Janeiro. If you aren’t ready to leave, your group leader can help with any onward travel arrangements you require.
The minimum age for this trip is 18 years old, and the maximumm age is 39.
British passport holders can normally enter Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil without a visa.
Visa requirements are all subject to change, so please check with the relevent embassies for up to date visa requirements before travel.
Please note: Due to recent changes, the Bolivian authorities now require all travellers to Bolivia to provide a Yellow Fever 'Certificate of Vaccination' on arrival. You should keep your Yellow Fever Certificate with your travel documents when entering Bolivia. As we are not medically trained we are not able to advise you about vaccinations - you should make an appointment with your GP before travelling to get up to date information and advice about receiving the vaccination and other health considerations.
Can I Travel Solo?
Absolutely! You won’t have to pay a supplement if you’re travelling solo, and there’s no need to worry as most of our travellers travel solo so you’ll be in great company! Our trips are social and you’re bound to meet loads of interesting people, so lots of travellers opt to participate alone. Similarly, you can participate in this trip with a friend or boyfriend/girlfriend.
Can You Tell Me Anything About My Guide?
You’ll be accompanied on your tour by a local representative who will make travelling much more fun and easy! Your guide will provide you with all the information you need about your destinations and give you informed advice about things to see in your free time and where to eat!
What Happens If I Experience Arrival Complications?
We don’t expect you to encounter any problems, but if you do you should contact your starting hotel as soon as possible in order to speak to your guide or leave a message for them. If you cannot get in touch with your guide please refer to the emergency contact details listed in your online account, which you’ll have access to once you’ve booked your trip. It’s a good idea to have these details easily accessible while you are travelling.
Can I Opt For My Own Room?
You can opt for your own room. This will incur an additional cost, and you’ll have your own room for every night apart from the nights during the estancia stay and the overnight bus. If you would like to book your own room, please contact us for further details.
