Arrival information

We have a fantastic flights team who can help you book all the flights needed to get between your individual programmes, as these are not included in the cost of the programme. Contact a travel advisor who can provide you with a quote for the flight prices.

Thai Adventure

You will need to arrange your flights to arrive in to Suvarnabhumi airport in Bangkok between 6am and 10pm on day one of the Thai Adventure. Our local team will be waiting for you with a 'Gap 360' sign. They will take you to your hotel where you will be introduced to the rest of your group.

The Thai Adventure ends back in Bangkok on day 25. You will need to arrange your own flight to Denpasar Airport in Bali. The cost of this flight is not included in the trip price.

Depending on your itinerary dates, there might be a bit of time between the Thailand and Bali parts of your trip. In this instance, most travellers will travel to Bali and spend some independent time there. You can arrive up to five days in advance of the Bali Intro start date and still take up the inclusive transfer if you book your extra accommodation through us. If you would like to arrive before your Bali start date, please let us know at time of booking.

Bali Intro

You will need to arrange your flight from Bangkok to Denpasar Airport to arrive in time for the first day of your Bali Intro itinerary. An airport transfer is included. Our team will collect you and take you to your accommodation. Your trip will finish in the town of Ubud. A return airport transfer is not included, but your guide can help arrange this for you. A transfer by minivan to Denpasar Airport takes around 1.5 hours and costs approx. £5. We recommend you do not book an onward flight out of Bali until around 1pm at the earliest on the final day.

Please note: We try to run as many of our start dates back-to-back, so your Bali Intro can begin as soon as your Thai Adventure ends. On occasion, there might be days between where you will need to arrange your own accommodation. Please contact us for details.

Absolute Oz Jobs

You should arrange your flight from Denpasar to arrive in Sydney in time for the first day of your Absolute Oz Jobs itinerary. You will need to go to a pre-set meeting point at Sydney airport to catch the shuttle bus that’ll take you directly to your hostel to begin your first week of fun and adventure. If you want to arrive a few days earlier, we will be more than happy to help you organise any additional accommodation (at extra cost). Please contact us for further details.

Accommodation & meals

Thai Adventure

24 nights accommodation is included on your Thai Adventure. Most nights will be spent in hostels. Rooms are a combination of single-sex and mixed-sex dorms. We’ve hand-picked an incredible selection of hostel accommodation, perfect for young travellers looking for an upscale look and a sociable atmosphere. Rooms are dorm-style with a Thai-chic feel and all your creature comforts taken care of.

Accommodation at the elephant project is in simple huts in the grounds, so you’ll be sleeping right next to the elephants! Rooms are simple, but clean and comfortable with dorm-style beds and mosquito nets. On the overnight trek we’ll be staying in a rustic retreat and in Khao Sok National Park, we’ve got something really special lined up with a night in a ‘float-house’ – a Thai bungalow built on a raft! The facilities may be basic, but the setting is out of this world.

Please note: In some of the hotels along the way, you may be asked to pay a security deposit of £15 - £20. This is standard practice across Thailand. This is fully refundable on departure, as long as there’s no damage to your room.

5 breakfasts, 10 lunches, and 7 dinners are included on this trip. You’ll have to buy the rest of your meals yourself.Thai food is generally very affordable and almost always extremely delicious, so it’s a great opportunity to get stuck into the local cuisine.

Bali Intro

11 nights’ accommodation are included. You’ll be staying in high-end backpacker accommodation and hotels on Bali, all of which include their own swimming pools, private bathrooms, air conditioning and hot water. Two nights will be spent in a gorgeous guesthouse with pool in Kuta, one night will be spent in a hotel in Canggu, two nights will be spent in a hostel in Lovina with spectacular mountain views and a pool, three nights will be spent in a hotel on the idyllic island of Gili Trawangan, and three nights will be spent in a hotel in the town of Ubud.

Two of the nights will be in multi-share, mixed dorm accommodation, with rooms sleeping 4-7 people. The rest of your accommodation will be in the form of twin or quad-share rooms. Free Wi-Fi is available in every location, and laundry services are available on all nights except 4 and 5.

10 breakfasts, 1 lunch, and 1 dinner are included on this tour. Other meals on the trip are at your own cost. Dietary requirements can be catered for but please inform us of these at the time of booking.

Absolute Oz Jobs

Accommodation for the first seven nights of your stay in Australia is included in a city centre hostel in Sydney during nights 1, 2, 3, 6 and 7, and in shared accommodation during your stay at beach camp on nights 4 and 5.

Your hostel is equipped with modern facilities in dorm accommodation, which you’ll share with up to 10 people. There is an on-site café that serves breakfast and a kitchen with fridges and storage for your use. You’ll have access to all common areas, which includes a TV lounge. At beach camp, you may stay in multi-share dorm rooms or camp outside in tents under the stars!

After the first week, most of our travellers choose to rent an apartment, often sharing with the new friends they’ve made in the first week. Our team in Sydney will be able to help you explore possible accommodation options either in Sydney or elsewhere in Australia.

Some meals will be included in your first week, including a group welcome dinner of pizza on Monday, Beach Camp dinners (typical meals include pizza, fresh salads and wraps, steaks, sausages, chicken and pavlova or ice cream for dessert) and four free drinks on your Sydney bar cruise.
