See the USA at your own pace with this fantastic campervan hire package! Pick up a funky hand-painted campervan from one of the depots located all across the USA and Canada, and embark on a round-trip or one way adventure from depot to depot.
Each campervan is equipped with a sink and a fridge, so you’ll have everything you need for life on the road. Simply start driving and then when you’re done for the day, pull over and make camp.
With our mileage deposit system, you only pay for the mileage you use! Your mileage deposit will be included in the price when you make your booking and it covers you to travel 100 miles per day (150km per day in Canada). This can be split across your whole trip – so for example if you hire for 7 days, you have 700 miles to use across your entire hire period.

Plus, basic 3rd party liability insurance is included, and we have a range of excellent insurance upgrades available to give you peace of mind on the road. Not only that, but you’ll also qualify for 24-hour roadside assistance during your rental period, which means that any unlikely break-downs will be sorted out quickly.

The Maverick is a fully-equipped Ford E150 with an automatic transmission. This campervan sleeps 3 people as standard (or you can max out your sleeping space with an optional 2-person rooftop sleeper compartment). The Maverick is equipped with a gas cooker, a sink and tap, a fridge, air-conditioning and a stereo/CD/AUX in-put.
There are several optional extras which can be hired from the campervan depot or booked in advance. These include Sat-Navs, kitchen sets, bedding sets, aux cables, a roof rack, an additional roof sleeper, & more.
...The Big Sur...
You also have the option to be given a mid size model called the Big Sur. This campervan is a Ford T-350, and comes with all the same inclusions as The Maverick. Currently this vehicle is only available for pick ups and drop offs in Vancouver and Calgary.

Start your road trip in New York or Orlando to discover the incredible East Coast. Uncover the glamour of Florida and the southern charm of Georgia and Alabama, or explore the hard-hitting cities of Washington DC and Boston. You could even journey north and hop into Canada. Alternatively, you could pick up a campervan in the east and drive it west, mirroring the cross-country adventures of the original US settlers.
If you’re looking for some in-land adventures Salt Lake City, Phoenix, or Denver might be a better option. Salt Lake City is one of the USA's most popular ski towns, Phoenix is ideal for exploring Arizona, while Denver is a great starting point for Yellowstone and Rocky Mountain National Parks.
There are five epic West Coast depots: Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Seattle, Salt Lake City and Portland. This is a great place to embark on a one-way trip, travelling up the sparkling coastal road from L.A to San Fran, or venturing into the sizzling deserts of Nevada and the lush landscapes of Yosemite National Park.
Or perhaps you’d rather leave the USA behind altogether and explore Canada in your campervan? Pick up in Vancouver or Calgary and discover the jaw-dropping scenery of Banff and Jasper National Parks.

* If you pick up your campervan in Vancouver or Calgary, you can only embark on a round-trip. Similarly, if you pick up your campervan from any of the American depots, you cannot drop off your campervan in Vancouver or Calgary.

The great thing about this experience is that your accommodation is included in your campervan! Each campervan is fitted with a fold-out bed, as well as a sink with running water. When you pick up your campervan, you’ll be given a directory of campsites all across the USA, where you can spend the night. Campsite costs range from $7 to $25 per night.
In some places, you may be able to free camp; that is, pull over and camp by the side of the road. Keep an eye out for ‘no camping’ signs and be sure to pull over in a safe area. Where possible, we recommend booking into campsites as you’ll enjoy more security, comfort and access to facilities.
Meals are not included in the cost of the trip, but you’ll be provided with a stove so that you can prepare meals in your campervan. You can either bring your own cooking equipment or rent it as part of your package. The stoves are powered by propane gas which is easily available to purchase locally. Each can should last for around 7 days. You’ll also be provided with a 24/7 fridge to keep your supplies fresh, so you can stock up at supermarkets as you go.
There are a range depots across the USA and Canada from which you can pick up a campervan. These are: Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Miami, New York, Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, Denver, Salt Lake City, Calgary and Vancouver.
You will need to fly into your chosen start-point and pick up your campervan at the pre-arranged time and date. A member of the local team will show you around the campervan, complete the relevant paperwork, and provide you with all the information you’ll need to begin your experience.
You can drive your campervan on a round trip, starting and ending at the same depot, or you can drive one-way from depot to depot. The only exception is that you cannot drop off a campervan in the USA that you picked up in Canada, and vice versa. Please note: one-way journeys may be subject to a one-way fee.
You must return the campervan at the agreed depot at the pre-arranged time and date. Please be on time, as any returns that are more than an hour late will receive a penalty charge of a full day’s hire. The campervan must be returned in good condition with a full-tank of petrol.
The minimum age to hire a campervan is 21 years old. You must hold a full valid driving licence.
You will also need need to have a credit card (a debit card cannot be accepted) which will be left on file at the depot when you collect the campervan. A deposit won't be taken from the card, and you'll only be charged if there is any damage to the van when you return it.
It is your responsibility to ensure you have the correct travel documents and visas for your time away. British Nationals visiting the USA will be able to travel (for tourism purposes) under the US Visa Waiver Programme for up to 90 days. If you intend to stay for longer than this, plan to work, have ever been arrested or hold any criminal convictions, you will need to apply for a visa. American immigration procedures can be a little confusing, so for full and further details please either call us, or contact the US Embassy.
How Long Can I Hire A Campervan For?
The minimum rental period is 3 days. There is no maximum, so you can travel for as long as you like! The rental rate gets cheaper the longer you hire a campervan, so it pays to embark on an epic adventure!
How Much Spending Money Do I Need?
This depends on the length of time you are travelling for and your own spending habits. You will need to budget for fuel, meals, insurance and campground costs, as well as extra activities and excursions while you are out there. We recommend researching average fuel and living costs in your chosen destinations before you travel to work out your budget. Then add in some extra spending money in case of emergencies!
Do I Need Car Insurance?
Basic 3rd party liability insurance is included in your campervan hire. This is the minimum insurance you need to legally drive in the USA. However, we highly recommend you take out campervan insurance to cover you in case of an accident. You will be driving on unfamiliar roads in an unfamiliar vehicle, and the costs of an accident could spiral. You may find yourself on transport or in accommodation that would not typically be used, such as hostels that are more secluded, or on more private transport. This may vary by trip, or even by individual departure dates.
Most trips include a meeting on arrival with the guide or local team to discuss the trip, and this is an opportunity for you to ask any questions. You should arrive in time to attend these briefings.

Should you require medical assistance whilst travelling, the local team or guide will be able to help you get to a point of care. Medical facilities and standards can vary across the glove, so you should ensure you have adequate travel insurance in place.
Varying group sizes
To begin with, many trips will run with amended group sizes, so you may find smaller groups than would be typical. This may vary by trip, or even by individual departure dates.
Whilst there may be changes on our trips, it is vital that you make travelling safer for yourself, your travel companions, the local staff and guides, and the people of the country you are visiting. You should follow all local laws and restrictions, and follow the guidance of the local team. In addition, you can help make travel safer by bringing and using your own face coverings/masks and hand sanitiser, social distance where appropriate, wash your hands frequently, and cover your face when coughing or sneezing.
